2008 JAWS Silent Auction

cabin

Beautiful Sundance Cabin: Gather your friends and family and decide how high you can bid for this beautiful house nestled in the woods, with towering views of Mount Timpanogos in Robert Redford’s rustic resort, Sundance, Utah.

Once again, JAWdess Jeannie Morris has donated a week at her 4-bedroom house in Sundance. She doesn't rent this house - she uses it as a family retreat. So the only way to spend a week here is to bid early and often during our annual silent auction. The house is big enough for a family reunion (there's a rec room in the basement that is perfect for a bunch of kids in sleeping bags) but cozy enough to be a quiet retreat.

Ask your friends and family how much they would contribute to spend a week in such a special place. Then come to camp prepared to bid.

In the summertime you can hike to the waterfall above the house. In winter, it's a short walk to the ski runs, or visit www.sundanceresort.com for information on activities in and around Sundance.

While you're on the site, check out the rates if you wanted to visit Sundance and didn't have this option. Houses like Jeannie's rent for $1,000-plus per room, per night - more than $4,000 a night for Jeannie's house. We're asking for a minimum bid of just $1,500 for the entire house for an entire week.

Not coming to camp? You can still get in on the auction action. Reply to Cindy Richards off list (cindyrichards@ameritech.net) and she'll set up a phone relay to give you a chance to win a week at this Sundance getaway.

You'll be doing something good for yourself and something great for JAWS--raising money for our scholarship fund and other needs.

Blackout dates are Christmas holidays and the Sundance Film Festival which takes place during the last two weeks of January.

An Olympic original! This is one of those rare finds you can get only at the JAWS auction: an Olympic t-shirt signed by two-time beach volleyball gold medalists Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh. Come to camp ready for a bidding war on this one-of-kind auction item. And if you aren't coming to camp but want to bid, you still can bid by phone. Just let us know you want to get into the action. And thanks to the incomparable JAWdess Jeannie Morris for her generosity.
