We’re excited to launch what we hope will be the first of many webinars this year by bringing in JAWdess Marissa Evans to help those of us whose online portfolios are in need of some TLC. Whether you need help with getting started, think your site just needs a bit of tweaking or are contemplating a complete overhaul of your website, this two-part series can help!

Building a Fierce Website on March 18

Time: 10 a.m. PT / 11 a.m. MT / 12 p.m. CT / 1 p.m. ET

How many times has “make my digital portfolio” or “fix my website” been on your to-do list? Even if you have a vision for what you want your website to look like it can be frustrating to work hours on it and still not see the results you want. In this webinar we’re going to talk about what to put on your website, four of the biggest web platforms you can use and live web critiques to show you best practices for improving your current website. Whether you can’t find the password to your WordPress or you’re scared to look at your website, this webinar will help you take your website to the next level personally and professionally.

Duration: One hour. Marissa will speak for 30-40 minutes, then do three live website critiques of those submitted by webinar participants. The winners of the critiques will be chosen by a random drawing of participants who opt in during event registration.

Get Comfortable with WordPress Webinar on March 25

Themes? Plug-ins? WordPress.com? WordPress.org? Oh my! WordPress, while one of the most popular web platforms in the world, can be overwhelming. This webinar is here to change that. In this course you will learn the basics of WordPress including how to choose between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, how to start a blog on WordPress, how to choose a plug-in and get a synopsis of what everything on the login page means from the dashboard to where to write posts and more. Whether you’re looking to jump into WordPress or want to re-familiarize yourself, this training will help you do that.

Duration: One hour. Marissa will speak for 30-40 minutes, then do three live website critiques of those submitted by webinar participants. The winners of the critiques will be chosen by a random drawing of participants who opt in during event registration.

Attendance: If you’re not able to attend a live session, each one will be recorded and links for viewing will be sent to participants within 3-5 days.

This webinar is the first of many online trainings we hope to offer throughout the year. If you have a suggestion for a webinar or would like to share your expertise in a certain area with your fellow JAWdesses, please email info@jaws.org.
