It’s time to get excited, and it’s time to start thinking about the two auctions that are used to help generate funds for the fellows’ CAMP expenses: the online and silent onsite auction.
If you have donated to either in the past or have attended CAMP, it will work similarly. For the onsite silent auction, bring items and fill out a bid slip with info about the item and the minimum bid, then place it on the appropriate table, such as jewelry, books, journalism-related items, shark-themed items (JAWS!), purses and scarves, art, etc
Please be thoughtful in what you bring and try to bring items that will be sought after by the attendees. We reserve the right to pull items if they are not being bid on or aren’t in good/newly new shape. Last year some of the most sought after items were typewriter-themed and shark-themed. We always auction off the nearly-new printer bought specifically for CAMP, so if you need a new printer, keep that in mind.
If you have items that won’t fit in your suitcase, it’s possible you might be able to mail them ahead of time to Tanya Gazdik, who is coordinating both auctions. Email TanyaGazdik123@gmail.com for more information.
