JAWS NY Spring Meetup & Book Talk with "The Cure for Everything" Authors Michelle A. Williams & Linda Marsa

JAWS NEW YORK: Come connect at our spring meetup on Friday, May 15. Special guests will be Michelle A. Williams and Linda Marsa, co-authors of The Cure for Everything: The Epic Struggle for Public Health and a Radical Vision for Human Thriving.

Michelle is a professor of epidemiology and population health at Stanford University School of Medicine and former dean of the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Linda, a JAWS member, is an award-winning investigative journalist and a former Los Angeles Times reporter.  Linda and Michelle collaborated for four years to tell the dramatic, often unheralded history of public health in America. You'll hear about transformative success stories, near misses, and public health's most illustrious act of civil disobedience. You'll also hear why, as the authors put it, "public health must become everyone's business." Moderated by JAWS Health Journalism Program Director Liz Seegert.

WHEN:  Friday, May 15, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

WHERE:  A JAWS member’s home
