Are you a newbie when it comes to Google Tools? Do you know a tweet from an Instagram? Or are you a savvy social media user who wants to take your game to the next level? Then our CAMP Tech Training sessions are for you!

We’re doing things a little differently this year, with more focused workshops that fit in to the rest of the CAMP schedule. We are coordinating three sessions that run the gamut from Twitter 101 to livestreaming to optimizing your workflow through Google.

We have two sessions set for Saturday. The first is hands-on with social media, with as stellar roster of trainers: Victoria Reitano from CreatiVix Media; JAWS’ very own web manager, Connie Ho; Angilee Shah, digital editor for Global Nation, Public Radio International (PRI); and Rita Portela, digital content producer for NBC Universal. They’ll work with you in small groups, answer your questions, show you how to become a social media maven, and enhance your existing online presence.

Victoria is also leading a second session that focuses exclusively on several important Google Tools, like Drive, Trends and Docs, to show you how to incorporate them into your daily reporting work, streamline productivity and collaborate from anywhere in the world. Victoria is an amazing resource — she’s managed digital media brands at ABC’s “LIVE with Kelly and Michael” and created the first digital presence for “The Meredith Viera Show.”

But wait, there’s more!

Sunday morning’s session offers even more hands-on training with Marissa Evans of CQ Roll Call; Nikki Raz of The Las Vegas Review-Journal and CAMP co-chair/Tampa Bay Times reporter Justine Griffin. They’ll help you learn how to optimize email, create your own website, shoot and edit mobile video and answer your questions. You’ll work in small groups for a more personalized experience and leave the session with some great tips for organizing your work and taking it to the next level.

And we’re also bringing back our Appy Hour! This popular show-and-tell is open to anyone who wants to share and demonstrate “the one” app they can’t live without on their smartphone! Maybe it’s Periscope so you can livestream your reporting. Maybe it’s the phone version of HootSuite to better manage social media, or some great video or audio editing app. If you have something to share with others, join us for cocktail hour before Saturday’s CAMP dinner and app it up!

Novice or pro … there’s something for everyone to learn and explore. We hope to see you at this year’s CAMP Tech Training for one, two or all three sessions!
